Job Description

As the Senior Content Editor in the Energy Team, you will be a key member of the uSwitch marketing groupoverseeing digital content across a variety of channels, as well as creating, owning and driving initiatives and campaigns built on user-centric content.

You`ll collaborate across product and marketing teams to develop and deliver results-driven content targets by:

  • Identifying, planning and executing fresh, sharp content pieces that demonstrate our energy expertise and drive engagement within target markets

  • Maintaining oversight of the energy content lifecycle including planning/developing, writing/editing, distributing/marketing, monitoring/analysing and optimising

  • Maintaining strong relationships across both product and marketing, providing your specialised knowledge where needed

  • Ensuring all content adheres to uSwitch`s brand values and is consistent in terms of style, tone and voice

  • Building the uSwitch brand and raising awareness of the consumer benefits of comparing energy deals

  • Finding opportunities to increase uSwitch`s energy content exposure to drive additional site traffic and sales

  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of your content to the team and business stakeholders

  • Working closely to build and maintain relationships with product executives, developers and designers, as well as in-house PR, marketing, SEO and social media teams


  • Degree in Journalism, Marketing, PR or Communications

  • Proven experience in leading digital content marketing campaigns and delivering compelling content across various formats

  • Proven ability to engage key stakeholders across the business to deliver projects on time and hit targets

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively; able to initiate, manage and own projects with tight deadlines

  • Expert writing skills and near-perfect spelling and grammar

  • Experience creating social media focussed content campaigns, including developing bespoke KPIs for this type of content

  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics including basic data analysis and experience reporting on content metrics and KPIs to stakeholders

Desirable Skills

  • You have the ability to think deeply and write quickly and accurately in an agile environment

  • You have strong project management skills and thrive in fast-paced environments

  • You have rich content creation skills (video, infographics) and experience turning copy into compelling visuals

  • You`re comfortable being the "face and voice" of energy as a uSwitch spokesperson (media training will be provided)
