Job Description

The Zoopla Property Services division has over one hundred million web pages across our portfolio of brands; Zoopla.co.uk, Primelocation.com & SmartNewHomes.com. The SEO manager is responsible for the implementation of the ZPG Property Services SEO strategy set by the SEO Lead. The primary focus of the role is to execute the technical & evergreen SEO strategy alongside the SEO development team. In addition to launching integrated SEO, content & inbound marketing campaigns with social, PR & content teams.

The SEO team`s main objective is to better how Google accesses and indexes the high traffic and converting sections of our website as well as making sure we have evergreen & informative content that matches our consumers` search intent within Google with goal to deliver incremental traffic & conversions. As an SEO manager, you will be expected to consult against all things technical, content & inbound marketing during projects and campaigns as well as making sure you are integrated with product work-flows to ensure new website features/product enhance SEO performance.

You will also be expected to help the SEO Lead internal SEO QA processes alongside the QA and automation teams in technical.

Reporting to the SEO Lead, the SEO manager will;

  • Contribute to the SEO technical, content & inbound marketing roadmaps & strategy
  • Implement the SEO strategy across our portfolio of brands
  • Present regular KPI reports to senior stakeholders
  • Integrate with product, infrastructure and technical teams to help influence SEO back-end related projects
  • Managing all website SEO implementation in line with best practice
  • Work with QA and automation teams to ensure SEO QA is in the mix across other teams
  • Execute on-site technical audits
  • Stay up-to-date with all Google updates that impacts how Google sees the ranking factors of a website
  • Work with technical SEO developers to maintain technical SEO on-site
  • Monitor and set recommendations for internal and external duplicate content
  • Put together internal projects to create tools to facilitate crawls primarily using the python knowledge within the SEO development team
  • Automate server log analysis internal to gain insights of how Googlebot is crawling our site
  • Conduct regular analysis and identify patterns of how our target audience are searching within Google & make sure we have the right content to match intent
  • Closely monitor crawling spikes to mitigate any risk of penalty or loss in ranking authority across key pages
  • On-going analysis with Google Analytics to monitor SEO performance alongside targets and KPIs

Role requirements...

  • Strong SEO experience in a one of the following environments (commercial media publisher, ecommerce, retail, classified, travel)
  • Strong technical, content & inbound marketing SEO strategy background
  • Strong analytical skills for modelling performance and opportunity with large sets of data (big data).
  • Have the knowledge and ability to process a lot of data
  • Have experience in web developing, coding and server-side management is preferred
  • Knowledge of how product departments work
