Job Description

To work in the SEO team, focusing on increasing the volume of qualified and relevant traffic to ZPG (uSwitch Broadband / Mobiles) from major search engines including, but not exclusively, Google UK.

Whilst it will be essential to maintain and grow traffic to core templates through sound best practice optimisation and creative tasks, the role will work closely with the highly productive in-house and freelance Editorial Team. Our proprietary CMS has been developed to enable us to publish authoritative content such as News, Guides and Features.Internally, the job title will be Junior Organic Performance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full day to day management of on-page and off-page SEO best practice.
  • Ensuring that all important ZPG (uSwitch Broadband / Mobiles) content is made available to search engine spiders for indexation
  • Ensuring that all important ZPG (uSwitch Broadband / Mobiles) content is optimised to be as relevant as possible for key topical search queries carried out by our core audience segments.
  • Preventing any duplication of uSwitch content from appearing in major search engine indices
  • Work closely with the Editorial Team to ensure all news, guides and features are fully optimised for the inbound marketing effect of search and social.
  • Manage the syndication of content into e.g. AMPs, Google News and other content amplification channels.
  • Delivering on short to mid term objectives (OKRs) to support the sales teams` regional efforts.
  • Work with Business Intelligence department to provide regular reporting of SEO trends to provide visibility of which areas of optimisation have been the most successful

Person Specifications:

  • Good relevant SEO experience in a commercial media publisher background or an Ecommerce/retail/classified/travel/price comparison business with a strong focus on producing original editorial content.
    • Senior SEO Exec with strong credentials looking for a move to a manager position or;
    • an SEO Manager looking to move into a new, challenging environment.
  • Strong technical on-page and off-page optimisation skills.
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PIVOT, etc)
  • Strong Google Analytics skills
  • Desired Data Studio understanding;
  • Strong understanding of the power of unique, timely and engaging content for SEO.
  • Good grip of the power of online PR and social media in aiding SEO, including the understanding of Facebook`s OpenGraph Protocol page markup.
  • Strong analytical skills for modelling performance and opportunity with large sets of data.
  • Strong team ethic with a desire to work and develop within a fast-growing business.
  • Excellent academic achievement, ideally with good maths / computing background.
  • Communicative and sociable. Must be able to work well with other business functions.
