Job Description

As theMarketing Content Editorin the uSwitch Banking Team, you will be a key member of a multifunctional team, researching and writing impactful, user-centric news and articles about the finance industry, as well as developing an effective content strategy and delivery roadmap. You`ll also collaborate across the wider business to develop and deliver content targets by:

  • Coming up with fresh, sharp angles on personal finance industry news and, using your unique perspective, create consumer friendly content for credit cards, mortgage rates, loans, current accounts and more across a wide range of formats and channels including news, guides, email, product journeys and social media
  • Maintaining oversight of the banking content lifecycle including planning/developing, writing/editing, distributing/marketing, as well as monitoring/analysing with the help of your team
  • Ensuring all content adheres to uSwitch`s brand values and is consistent in terms of style, tone and voice
  • Building the uSwitch brand and raising awareness of the consumer benefits of comparing banking products such as credit cards and mortgages
  • Finding opportunities to increase uSwitch`s personal finance content exposure to drive additional site traffic and sales
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of your content to the team and business stakeholders
  • Working closely with product executives, developers and designers, as well as in-house PR, marketing, SEO and social media teams


  • Degree in Journalism, Marketing, PR or Communications
  • Previous experience writing for the personal finance sector or a similar, highly regulated sector
  • Experience in digital content marketing and delivering compelling content across various formats is essential
  • Strong writing skills and near-perfect spelling and grammar are a must
  • Basic knowledge of SEO
  • Self-driven, highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to think deeply and write quickly and accurately in an agile environment
  • Understand commercial targets, marketing objectives and user needs, and how these intersect through great content

Desirable Skills

  • Rich content creation skills and experience turning copy into compelling visuals
  • Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively; able to initiate, manage and own projects
  • Comfortable being the "face and voice" of banking as a uSwitch spokesperson and Personal Finance Expert (media training will be provided)
  • Comfortable with Google Analytics including basic data analysis
