Job Description

As data business analyst, we are looking for someone who is a data evangelist and has a clear understanding and experience of how raw data can be processed and managed to unlock its value. You will play a lead role in the planning and ongoing management and development of Hometrack`s data sources, ensuring these are collected, stored and processed in an efficient, value-added manner.

You will work alongside a talented team of data engineers, quantitative analysts and product owners to help steer their use of data to enhance the value of our existing and new solutions.

The role is highly varied and has a wide range of internal and external stakeholders within Hometrack, across ZPG and with clients and third parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the data roadmap and release plan - linking internal stakeholder data requirements and scoping the technical specifications for delivery by the data engineering team.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships, acting as a link between the business and data teams on data to enhance our solutions, scoping requirements and developing specifications and documentation for implementation of new data into our databases.
  • Identification of new data sources across ZPG and from external sources - presentation to internal stakeholders and scoping the integration of new data into Hometrack`s data platform.
  • Engaging with third party data suppliers - customers, commercial suppliers and partners - on existing and new datasets, contract renewals and royalty payments.
  • Designing and implementing regular MI to report on data assets, maintenance of data dictionary and data asset register.
  • Designing and implementing processes and MI for reporting on the transfer of data into and out of the business.

Minimum Requirements

- Educated to degree level or equivalent

- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role

- Minimum 2 years of work experience with strong T-SQL, advanced Excel skills

- Experience in data querying, profiling and manipulation

- Knowledge of ETL processes

- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast pace environment

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Ability to work with minimal supervision and on multiple tasks simultaneously

- Excellent time management and prioritisation of work tasks

- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven rapid learning capability

- Excellent interpersonal skills and commercial awareness
