Summary of role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial (Energy) the purpose of this role is to ensure continued growth in uSwitch`s Energy P&L, by building best in class relationships with companies in the energy industry.

This role will be responsible for:

  • Owning a portfolio of partner relationships, spotting and delivering opportunities to optimise the results we generate together
  • Leading on cross-partner initiatives which enable the Energy Commercial team to better serve our partner needs
  • Developing, researching, and delivering new commercial initiatives to help grow the Energy P&L

The successful candidate will be a key player in helping the Energy Commercial team realise it`s ambitions in the way it builds strong, positive and profitable commercial relationships. We`re looking for someone highly personable with a passion for continuous improvement, a self-starter attitude and evidence of their ability to influence outcomes through strong external stakeholder communication.

The team they`ll join plays a fundamental role in the delivery of uSwitch`s results and therefore they`ll have the opportunity to collaborate with a large number of teams across the ZPG group. Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for maintaining and developing our best-in-class partners relationships and ensuring that their needs are delivered above expectations to generate and protect revenue in the uSwitch Energy P&L. This will involve:

  • Build and maintain best in class relationships with a portfolio of partners, spotting and delivering opportunities to optimise our results with them, ensuring risks are appropriately managed and the energy P&L is kept up-to-date with key developments
  • Lead on the delivery of a programme of hospitality initiatives across our partner portfolio, researching, planning and delivering opportunities for us to build ever deeper and more collaborative relationships with our priority partners
  • Lead on the delivery of supplier communications, finding opportunities to provide useful and engaging information to suppliers in a highly efficient way
  • Support the Head of Commercial (Energy) in the development of uSwitch`s commercial offering to suppliers, researching opportunities and co-ordinating key stakeholders
  • Understanding the performance of key activity - including high level analysis of data on consumer behaviour, sales conversion, product performance and market trends
  • Proactively identifying and with the support of the Head of Commercial (Energy), testing and implementing new commercial initiatives for the channel
  • Being a point of liaison with other members of the Energy team, in particular the Energy Operations & Contact Centre teams
  • With the support of the Head of Commercial, run regular reviews with partners to ensure we continue to understand their needs, exceed their expectations and spot opportunities

Essential skills

We`re looking for a intelligent and adaptable individual with a minimum of one years` experience liaising with external parties. You will be passionate about continuous improvement and desire to learn and grow.

The ideal candidate:

  • A minimum of one years` experience liaising with 3rd parties
  • Experience of influencing stakeholders to achieve desired commercial results
  • Energy sector experience a plus, however not essential
  • Fantastic people skills, an excellent communicator and capable of independently managing communications with partners
  • A very clear understanding of how to deliver first-rate client service, striving to always deliver beyond expectations
  • Commercially astute, not afraid to enter negotiations with support from the senior team
  • Organised and able to prioritise accordingly
  • Good numerical literacy and understanding of how to use data to inform decision making
  • Desire to develop with the support of a more senior team and own the delivery of their projects
  • Commitment to quality - someone who aims to continuously improve their way of working and exceed expectations
