Job Description

Hometrack is the leading provider of Automated Valuation Models (AVMs), housing data and analysis to UK lenders, estate agents, government, developers and other key players in the housing market. The company was founded in 1999 and since January 2017 it has become part of ZPG.

As data and information manager, you play a lead role in the planning and management of all Hometrack`s data sources, ensuring these are collected, stored and processed in an efficient, value-added manner that meets all contractual requirements. The primary focus is on data that the business receives and processes from clients and other third parties to deliver its services. An additional aspect of the role covers the customer data we store and process as part of our day to day business activities.

The role is highly varied and has a wide range of internal and external stakeholders within Hometrack, across ZPG and with clients and third parties. You will work with internal stakeholders on data sources and product development initiatives; you will negotiate and have close interactions with 3rd party data suppliers and data partners and you will work closely with the data engineers and analysts on how data is stored and accessed for analysis and solution development.

Key Responsibilities

1) Data Management and Assurance

o Ownership of Hometrack`s data dictionary, data asset register and the permissions for

use of different datasets across our solutions.

o Maximise data quality and coverage from external data suppliers.

o Ownership of Data Release plan and data imports sign off.

o Management of data transfer processes into and out of the business.

2) Data Planning and Procurement

o Main point of contact for 3rd party data suppliers.

o Manage data purchasing, processing, and delivery via 3rd parties.

o Manage Hometrack`s data budget and usage to optimise the return for the business,

including management of royalties to external parties.

o Identify, evaluate, and procure new data sources to enhance solutions.

o Fully understand the commercial arrangements we have with data suppliers and lead

the commercial negotiations.

3) Information Management

o Management of the Information Management Policy and ensure ongoing compliance

working with the Information Security Manager.

o Hometrack process very limited amounts of personal data - the role will include the

management of Hometrack`s policies to comply with GDPR requirements on subject

access requests, data retention policy and storage.

o Ensure all data held by the business meets contractual and legal requirements.

Minimum Requirements

- Educated to degree level or equivalent

- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role

- Minimum 2 years of work experience with T-SQL, advanced Excel skills

- Experience in data querying, profiling and manipulation

- Experience in running data asset registers, negotiating commercial agreements

- Knowledge of ETL processes

- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast pace environment

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
