A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within our strategy team at ZPG. We`re constantly growing and evolving and we`re looking for a motivated Corporate Development Manager to come on board.

The role of Strategy at ZPG is very much about `doing` rather than theorising and therefore, the type of person we are looking for will exemplify those characteristics along with the more traditional disciplines of a strategy manager. They also need to have the right cultural fit for a fast paced, agile, collaborative, and entrepreneurial organisation.

The Strategy team at ZPG covers the following areas: M&A, integration, partnerships and investments, competitor analysis and the medium-term strategy and vision of the company across its 3 main areas of operation; property services, price comparison and data services.

ZPG has grown at a rapid pace since its launch in 2007 and particularly, over the past 3 years since the IPO both organically, and through acquisition. We have completed numerous transformational acquisitions including; uSwitch, Property Software Group, Hometrack, Technicweb, Expert Agent, Ravensworth and Calcasa as well as investing in a number of the hottest proptech and fintech start-ups.

We expect this pace and expansion to continue and we need a Corporate Development Manager to join the strategy team to drive insight and execution of the strategy for the 3 areas of the company and support ZPG`s future growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project managing M&A activity working with the legal and finance teams at ZPG, as well as external advisors such as corporate finance banks, lawyers and tax and corporate accountants
  • Competitor analysis of main and emerging competitors across our 3 areas of the company: Property services (portal, software, data), Comparison services, and Data Services for both the UK and International markets
  • Modelling, insight, analysis of potential acquisition opportunities
  • Internal stakeholder management of future acquisitions including writing board reports etc.
  • Identifying potential investment opportunities across the proptech and fintech industries
  • Keeping track of our investment portfolio to ensure we are maximizing value
  • Preparation of documents for key strategic checkpoints e.g. executive team meetings, board meetings, investor/analyst meetings
  • Website and mobile traffic analysis of our peers and competitors

Skills required:


  • Corporate finance experience
  • A pro-active individual who takes full accountability
  • Versatile and comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Excellent MS Excel and modelling skills
  • Excellent Powerpoint skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong research ability and able to disseminate lots of information into the salient points
  • Comfortable explaining financial analysis to colleagues without financial experience
  • Minimum 2 years investment banking/VC/private equity and strategy experience
