Job Description

The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for all online customer acquisition to drive uSwitch Mobiles forward. The role will also involve running day-to-day online marketing activity for Mobiles, with a strong emphasis on paid search to deliver growth in volume and profit and contribute to overall product development.

This role has responsibility for:

  • Traffic acquisition through paid search:
    • Continuously optimising PPC campaigns (all aspects) to achieve maximum sales volume and ROI
    • Developing and implementing a paid search strategy to achieve volume growth
    • Ensuring cost effective coverage across multiple search engines
    • Identifying new opportunities for growth, inc. keyword mining & informing product development from search demand
  • Use of tools to inform marketing strategy, including Hitwise & Google Analytics
  • Delivery of online marketing insight to the Mobile team, including feedback on client objectives
  • On-site optimisation to continue the customer journey from marketing to sale, including:
    • Optimisation of earnings-per-page/visit
    • Landing page design feedback
    • Conversion optimisation & call-to-action
    • Marketing copy
  • Online marketing through additional channels, including:
    • Display activity including retargeting / remarketing and real time bidding
    • Social media for sales acquisition, including Twitter & Facebook (supported)
    • Input to email content with email team
    • Input into organic search strategy with SEO Manager
  • Providing insight and historical evidence into best practice for web design, with regards to paid marketing
  • Holder of historical performance and market trends
  • Primary Mobile contact for finance team
  • Provide input into mobiles strategy and provides critical feedback/feasibility assessment on matters related to customer acquisition

Key skills and experience:

  • Proventrack record in digital acquisition with large budgets
  • An understanding of the affiliate model (CPA)
  • strong experience of delivering and optimising PPC campaigns to performance metrics
  • the ability to prioritise opportunities with confidence
  • Understand the CPC/EPC marketing model
  • On-site conversion expertise
  • A basic understanding of marketing attribution
  • A brave & ambitious approach to achieving growth
  • An understanding of `on-mobile` user behaviour-risks & opportunities
  • Experience of the mobile phone sector preferable but not necessary
